Caraway aioli

This creamy spread adds a subtle anise flavor to sandwiches.

Thanks to earthy caraway seeds and garlic, this aioli can take any sandwich from plain to gourmet. Kids like the creamy texture and burst of flavor, making lunch prep easier when you’re making meals for the whole family, says Marissa Lippert, RD, a New York City-based nutritionist and owner of Nourish Baby, a food-delivery service for parents and newborns. You can also use it as a dip for vegetables.

1 egg yolk
½ teaspoon lemon juice
⅛ teaspoon caraway seeds, toasted
⅛ teaspoon grated garlic
Black pepper
½ cup grapeseed oil


In a food processor, combine egg yolk, lemon juice, caraway seeds, garlic, salt, and pepper. While mixing, slowly drizzle in grapeseed oil. Store in an airtight container refrigerated for 1 week.
