Roasted almond butter and banana toast

Making the spread yourself gives you complete control over its flavor.

Easy to put together, toast is the perfect meal when you’re cramped for time. This version is an elevated spin on the kid-friendly PB&J, courtesy of Marissa Lippert, RD, a New York City-based nutritionist and owner of Nourish Baby, a food-delivery service for parents and newborns. It pairs the healthy fats and protein from almond butter, hemp seed, and coconut with sweetness from bananas and maple syrup.

4 pieces whole-grain bread, toasted
2 bananas, thinly sliced
1 teaspoon maple syrup
4 teaspoons toasted unsweetened coconut flakes
Hemp seeds, for topping


Spread almond butter on toasted bread. Layer banana slices on top and drizzle with maple syrup. Top with coconut flakes and hemp seeds.
