Carrot cake overnight oats

Reimagine the classic dessert's flavors in a healthy breakfast.

“This recipe uses antioxidant-rich allspice, which comes from the dried fruit of a pimento tree, but smells and tastes like a mixture of cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg,” says Lisa Hayim, R.D., a registered nutritionist based in New York City and founder of The Well Necessities. “For extra fiber and omega 3s you can add chia or flax seeds.”

½ cup old-fashioned oats
½ of a large carrot, finely grated
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
⅛ teaspoon allspice
¾ cup almond milk


½ teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon chia or flax seeds



Place all the ingredients except the milk in a glass jar and stir well.


The night before consuming, add in the milk and stir well. Store in the fridge overnight with the lid on. Enjoy in the morning.
