Celebrity playlist: How to Dress Well

Indie pop musician Tom Krell shares his favorite songs for the gym.

Until now, if you were listening to music by Tom Krell (fans know him better under his professional handle, How to Dress Well) at the gym, it was probably during a cool-down. The songs on his first two albums can be described as hushed, emotionally-charged alt-R&B. But on his new album, Care (out September 23), Krell heads in more of a pop direction, working with producers who've created hits with Carly Rae Jepsen, Taylor Swift, and Kanye West. Expect the new tracks to carry Krell's signature emotional punch Krell is known for, but backed with joyful beats—songs perfect for a workout. When it comes to his fitness (Krell prefers pick-up basketball games and some weight lifting), the musician opts to listen to a breezy mix that includes tunes by Jamaican artist Popcaan, Robyn, Banks and more.
