Beware the full moon

A recent study confirms that a full moon means less shut-eye for you.

Tonight a full moon will grace the sky. And, according to new research, a werewolf spotting is really the least of your worries. By measuring the brain's activity using electroencephalograms (EEGs), Swiss researchers found that a full moon decreases the beneficial effects of a deep sleep, or REM cycle, by 30 percent. Study subjects took 5 minutes longer to fall asleep, and overall sleep duration was reduced by 20 minutes. The relationship between the lunar cycle and our sleep cycle is still unclear, but may we suggest turning off the TV and slipping on a sleep mask? You'll be less nightmarish in the morning.
